We ask people to rate agent output, and separately we watch what they do with it. The two rarely agree.

The detail

Outputs rated "good" are edited nearly as often as outputs rated "poor" — because rating is a social act and editing is a practical one.

The edit is the signal. The rating is mostly politeness.
