Instrumenting an agent is not instrumenting a model

Backend tracing assumes a request with a deterministic path. An agent run has neither.
The detail
The same instruction can take four different routes on four different days, call a different set of tools, and produce output that is judged by a person rather than a status code.
What survives from classical tracing is the discipline: capture the boundaries, correlate across systems, and never trust a single clock.
