A research summarisation agent was suspected of fabricating citations, but nobody could produce an example.

What we did

Every run became replayable, including the exact document set retrieved.

The result

The agent was not fabricating. It was citing an internal preprint repository the team had forgotten was indexed.

Being able to replay it ended a three-month argument in an afternoon.
